Conditional Categorical Response Models with Application to Treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction
نویسندگان
چکیده
For a sample of 2361 patients admitted with suspected acute myocardial in-farction (AMI) to a set of 37 hospitals, recorded patient response variables include eligibility for treatment with aspirin, eligiblilty for treatment with thrombolytics, treatment with aspirin received, treatment with thrombolytics received, and short-term patient survival. Each of these ve variables has two levels resulting in a 2 5 contingency table. Covariate information includes age, sex, race and comorbidity status. Because the responses arrive in sequence we model this data in three stages: eligibility, then treatment received given eligibility and nally short-term survival given eligibility and treatment received, all given the covariates. Issues of interest include extent to which treatment received matches eligibility, whether probability of survival is aaected by treatment status and how the chance of mortality is aaected by whether or not treatment received matches eligibility. Innuence of co-variate information on these quantities is examined. These quantities are studied at the hospital level adjusted for case mix and also in aggregate, marginalizing over hospitals. .

Translation of Methdology used in Human Myocardial Imaging to a Sheep Model of Acute Myocardial Infarction
Background: Pre-clinical investigation of stem cells for repairing damaged myocardium predominantly used rodents, however large animals have cardiac circulation closely resembling the human heart. The aim of this study was to evaluate whether SPECT/CT myocardial perfusion imaging (MPI) could be used for assessing sheep myocardium following an acute myocardial infarction (MI) and response to int...
متن کاملFactors associated with prehospital delay in patients with acute myocardial infarction
Introduction: Treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI) is time related, so delay in treatment could affect prognosis. Recognizing pre-hospital or in-hospital delays in initiating treatment and reducing these factors is very efficacious in treatment of these patients. Methods: A cross sectional study was carried out on 227 patients with acute myocardial infarction. Demographi...
متن کاملMyocardial damage of the entire ventricular region in a patient with acute myocardial infarction
Technetium-99m-pyrophosphate (99mTc-PYP) has been used, in combination with thallium-201, to estimate the site and extent of myocardial infarcts. We report a case of acute myocardial infarction with severe coronary disease in which the distribution of 99mTc-PYP was extensive. A 78-year-old man presented with dyspnea, and a diagnosis of non-ST-segment elevation acute myocar...
متن کاملstudy of platelet parameters in the patients with acute myocardial infarction referred to Ali Shariati Hospital in 2018
Introdution: The rapid and accurate diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction is essential for effective treatment. Recently, troponin has been introduced as a biochemical marker for early diagnosis of acute myocardial infarction. Platelet parameters (P-LCR, MPV, PDW) play a key role in the pathophysiology of acute coronary syndrome. The aim of this study was to evaluate platelet indexes in the ...

Introduction: Fibrinolytic drugs are one of the important strategies for the treatment of patients with acute myocardial infarction with ST segment elevation, especially in small centers. This study was conducted with the aim of evaluating the distance with the global standard for fibrinolytic treatment and the viewpoints of experts in this regard. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional st...
